What should I do in a crisis?
The most important thing to do is to get help and support as soon as possible. If you need someone to talk to about the crisis you can call the NHS Direct (0845 46 47) or Samaritans (0845 790 90 90) helplines, however if there is an immediate danger (to yourself or others) call the emergency services on 999.
If you have accessed mental health services before (e.g. if you have a Care Plan)
You should have been given contact details to use in an emergency/crisis. If you do not have access to these details then contact the Open Mind Service (office hours) or the NHS Mental Health Crisis Team (01744 621688 - out of office hours).
If you have not accessed mental health services before
You should contact the Open Mind Service or make an appointment with your doctor/GP.
