Services

Confidential, independent and free advice on a whole range of topics including debt, benefits, housing, employment, consumerism, travel, education, health and taxes. There is also help available online through the Citizens Advice Service www.citizensadvice.org.uk

Financial Awareness Service around the area whereby clients are able to access free debt advice.

Citizens Advice St Helens is appointment only, please call 01744 737 866 to arrange this.

Appointment times:

  • Monday 9am – 5pm
  • Tuesday 9am – 6pm
  • Wednesday 9am – 5pm
  • Thursday 9am – 5pm
  • Friday 9am – 4.30pm
    These are on the second floor at the Millennium Centre.

    Alternatively, you can ring for advice or an appointment outside these hours by calling 0344 826 9694* between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday (*if the enquiry is relating to debt or benefits please contact 01744 737 866 instead of the main number between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday).

    Advice is provided at the following outreach venues. These are a drop-in service so no appointment is necessary:

    Tuesday – Lowe House Health Centre, (Patients of this surgery only), 103 Crab Street, St Helens WA10 2DJ, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

    Thursday – Fingerpost Park Health Centre, (Patients of this surgery only), Atlas Street, St Helens, WA9 1LN, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

    Fridays – Crownway Community Centre, Crown Street, Newton le Willows, WA12 9DA from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm

    Sessions for the Financial Awareness Service are held at the following times and venues:

    Wednesday – St Helens Hospital, Allen Day Unit, Marshalls Cross Road, St Helens, WA9 3DA between 9:30 am – 4:00 pm.

    Friday – Hope Centre, Atherton St, St Helens, WA10 2DT, 11.00 am to 1.00 pm Second Friday of every month.

    Patients of the following GP practice can make an appointment to see an Adviser by contacting the surgery direct. Monday – Rainbow Medical Centre – Welfare Benefits (Patients of this surgery only), 333 Robins Lane, St Helens, WA9 3PN Ring 01744 811211 for an appointment.
