The Keep in Touch group is a community based group for older people who have experienced mental health problems, and was established in response to the closure of the Birch Day Unit. The group is facilitated by St Helens Coalition of Disabled People, St Helens Council and Halton & St Helens PCT and aims to enable people to maintain social contact and progress towards increased independence.
The group is an opportunity to meet new/old friends, chat, relax and spend time with others who have shared similar experiences and they meet twice a week at St John’s Centre in Thatto Heath, on a Monday and Wednesday between 10am and 3pm. Days out are also organised by the group, and group members are fully involved in deciding when and where they would like to go.
