About

The Volunteer Centre can assist people in finding volunteering opportunities that can help people gain work experience, make new friends, receive training/qualifications, develop new skills and improve confidence and self-esteem. There are hundreds of different volunteering opportunities available in St Helens, with examples including: supporting a young person, raise funds for a group, help a child with their homework, improve the local environment, interpret local heritage and working to make someone else’s life better.

Services

Ongoing advice, help and support in:

  • Assessing an individual’s needs, interests, skills and experience to match them to a suitable volunteer opportunity
  • Identifying any training needs
  • Volunteer issues

How to Access

Information and advice can be given over the phone, through post or face-to-face at the Volunteer Centre in the Beacon Building in a private and confidential setting. Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday 9.30am to 3.30pm.
